Doug Shimada has enjoyed a career that has included work in telecommunications and computer sectors as well as private vocational, executive and higher education. His roles have included business development, sales education, total quality, human resources. Doug began his career in sales but moved into a variety of HR and Learning and Development roles before being recruited as VP HR for a large publicly traded vocational college and executive education provider.

Throughout his career, Doug has been regarded as being able to identify high performing employees as well "grow teams". He has championed a number of initiatives surrounding leadership and talent management to help attract, retain and motivate the "best and brightest".
