The mission of the Purchasing and Inventory Manager is to develop a team of high performers, (“A” players) to deliver efficient, accurate purchasing and inventory control. The PIM will have the responsibility to implement best practices in maintaining inventory levels to meet demand while preventing overstocks and obsolescence. 

Responsibilities

·      Coach, train and mentor staff to achieve purchasing department’s objective

·      Creation of Strategic Vendor Partner Program with Supplier Scorecard along with actionable items and improvement targets

·      Develop the best tactical and strategic agreements for the company to achieve optimal pricing, availability, delivery schedules and routes, supply chain efficiencies and best vendor performance.

·      Communicate with supervisors about vendor issues, pricing, product changes, supply chain dynamics, and strategy

·      Maintain inventory database (lead times, min order quantity, pricing)

·      Optimize and maintain lean inventories, minimize physical and financial loss

·      Ownership of KPI’s and metrics to set department goals and measure results

·      Direct inventory activities; including organizing & management of yearly inventory counts and weekly cycle counts

·       Investigate problems, find root causes and develop solutions

·       Establish strategies and goals for improved inventory forecast performance for the organization

·       Maintain close coordination with Production Team to ensure materials arrive for the timely production of finished products

·       Must develop demand projections, maintain databases and provide oversight of the details affecting accuracy in purchasing and inventory.

·       Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

·       Collection and distribution of necessary materials documents (NAFTA, CofA’s, MDS)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a competitive college or university in Purchasing, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field
  • Experience with international trade zones or working knowledge of customs regulations highly desirable
  • Previous supervisory/management/coaching experience in business setting required
  • Experience with NAFTA & SDS 
  • Three (3)+ years of related experience in purchasing; manufacturing environment a plus
  • APICS certification Preferred
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Exhibits highest level of ethics and objectivity in all job functions.
  • Accurate and detailed oriented
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment to excellence
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Proficient with office-related computer applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check to include credit and criminal histories
  • References from previous supervisors

Description: 

WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT

Mississauga, ON  (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

At Graham Muir Sales Inc. we are excited to be recruiting a Warehouse Assistant to join our team. 

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the selected candidate will assist with the efficiency of daily warehouse operations.

 

 

Responsibilities : 

The Role:

- Receive stock into the warehouse, checking paperwork for accuracy and shelving of stock

- Pick stock from shelves, and prepare paperwork for shipment

- Double check shipments

- Use computer and online software

- Post inventory receipts/flush back orders

- Use slitting machine and forklift

Qualifications: 

Two to three years experience in a warehouse environment is desirable; current training in health and safety (workplace hazardous conditions) is considered an asset. 

Must wear steel-toed footwear. 

Skills/Abilities

-Computer skills proficiency (MS Suite) with an aptitude for details and accuracy

-Communicative (spoken and written)

-Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

-Able to operate a slitting machine and forklift (training provided)

-Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
